Finally i can GO HOME!

After dealing with Guru Nayak, i can finally go home and tell my wife the good news, and now i can rest for the next day...ahhhhhh....

Getting rid of Guru Nayak

Well, since he did not want me to leave, I shall trick him into thinking that I am dead. Guru Nayak asked “Shall I succeed in my present search or not?” I immediately knew what he meant. I managed to convince him and gain his trust with some simple facts that I knew. After that, I told him that the person he was searching for was crushed under a lorry, which is supposed to be me. Guru Nayak believed every single word and left me some change. I can’t believe he was so gullible.

One day, just as I was about to go home, I saw this man standing in front of me. I decided that this would be the perfect opportunity for a customer and asked him to sit down. The stranger said “You call yourself an astrologer?” I felt challenged; he wanted me to tell him something worthwhile, something that was not the usual. I caught a glimpse of his face and realized that it was Guru Nayak, the guy I tried to kill. I decided not to continue as I did not want him to know that it was me. He did not let me escape and wanted me to continue.

Customers

There were many customers today. They had a lot of question. For one, i gazed at his palm and told him "In many ways you are not getting the fullest results for your efforts" and he agreed with me. For another I asked her "Is there any woman in your family, maybe even a distant relative, who is not well disposed towards you?" There was another where i gave an analysis of his character "Most of your troubles are due to your nature. How can you be otherwise with Saturn where he is? You have an impetuous nature and a rough exterior." It endeared to his heart immediately.

Work

Work as an astrologer is quite boring actually. You have to wait quite long for customers as most people do not believe in astrologers. Anyway, if i get a customer i will let the customer talk for ten minutes, and then charge three pies per question, usually at the end of ten minutes i will have enough stuff for answers and advice.

Dressing astrologer

Since i've told you most secrets of an astrologer, i might as well give you more information. You see, as an astrologer you have to dress appropriately which simply means really dull clothing and a dark stall. In fact, it would be good if you spread some sacred ash on your forehead also try to make your eyes sparkle, it would attract customers as they would think it to be a prophetic light.

My stall is also very dull, i don't use lights, this gives a sort of enchantment to your stall, attracting even more customers. My stall is under a tamarind tree at the Town Hall Park, i kind of like the spot, the tree giving shade, and the Town Hall Park is usually packed with a crowd, giving more opportunity for business. I got a job!

After much thinking and talking and arguing with my wife, i finally decided that i should be an astrologer, not that i wanted too but i had no other choice. The job suited me perfectly, since i was good at convincing people and probably being able to tell stories was a virtue. You see, i don't really know how to read the stars, you probably know more about them than i do, being an astrologer is more of a matter of study, practice and shrewd guesswork. All the same, i deserve the wages i get. An astrologer must also have a working analysis of mankind's troubles, for example you have to say things which apply to almost anyone, this captures their hearts and they will listen to you attentively.
